As an apprentice, you will be placed with one of our esteemed host employers, who will provide you with invaluable mentorship and training.
As a Bricklayer Apprentice with ECA:
You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of construction projects, including residential buildings, commercial structures, renovations, landscaping, and industrial developments. You will be working full-time, 38+ hours per week. You may be entitled to a rostered day off each month If successful, you will be completing your trade with one of our Host Employers, who will give you in-depth knowledge and guidance to help you become trade qualified within 4 years Out of Trade Apprentice are encouraged to apply

With the support of qualified tradespeople, you will be:
- Learn the art of bricklaying by assisting experienced tradespeople in various construction projects
- Assist in the preparation and cleaning of construction sites
- Carry and handle bricks, mortar, and other construction materials
- Assist with measuring and setting up the layout of buildings or structures
- Mix and apply mortar to ensure proper bonding of bricks
- Lay bricks and blocks according to specifications, patterns, and building codes
- Conduct inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of completed work
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment
Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:
- A strong desire to pursue a career in bricklaying and the construction industry
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and follow established procedures
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour in various weather conditions
- Have good hand-eye coordination
- Comfortable working from heights
- Must hold a Construction White Card or able to obtain ASAP
- Have a minimum P1 Drivers License and own reliable transport.
