We are looking for a Plant Operator to operate, inspect and maintain a variety of fixed plant equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders.
These are permanent roles working at our Andoom site and ship loading facilities in Weipa.

Reporting to the Plant Operations Supervisor and working a 4,5,5 day/night shift lifestyle roster, you will be:

Monitoring and carrying out daily plant inspections on the various work fronts of the fixed plant operations, and report any defects found during inspections;

Working across all streams, including apron feeder, conveyors, pumps, screens, classification tanks, stacker, reclaimer and shiploading;

Operating D11 Dozers

Monitoring and operating fixed plant equipment via FT View Scada;

Working with the maintenance team assisting Electrical and Mechanical personnel;

Working mostly outdoors in hot, humid and challenging environmental conditions including occasionally working at heights and in confined spaces.
What you’ll bring

Prior experience in operating and inspecting fixed plant equipment (preferred but not essential)

Demonstrated experience working within a team environment

A current ‘C’ class manual drivers licence

Where you’ll be working
Our Weipa operations in Far North Queensland includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, shiploaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals.
Amrun, our newest mine, was completed in 2018 and will extend our Weipa bauxite operations by decades, significantly building on our 55-year history on the Western Cape, and providing jobs and supporting business growth in the region. The mine is located on traditional land. We work closely with the Traditional Owners to implement our agreements, ensuring that the benefits generated from mining support future generations and that important cultural heritage sites are identified and preserved.
