THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Processing Shift Supervisor, the Leading Hand Process Operator is responsible for assisting the Supervisor in coordinating daily tasks with the running of equipment and monitoring processes of the Processing Plant. Acting as second in charge to the Processing Shift Supervisor, the Leading Hand Process Operator will provide guidance to the junior operators and may be required to act as Supervisor from time to time.
In this role, you will be getting amongst the day-to-day operation of the plant, it is essential you have significant experience working in a similar role. Ideally, you will have exposure to a complex processing system and a solid understanding of heavy metal processing (such as lithium, nickel, copper or gold)
This is a permanent full-time position that operates on a FIFO 8/6, 7/7 roster (day & night shift) from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Supervisor in providing guidance and leadership to Process Operators across all areas of the production plant.
- Ensure compliance to operating procedures
- Supporting the Supervisor in training and developing the processing team within the Supervisors span of control, providing on-the-job training and coaching to shift crew participants.
- Coordinate and delegate priorities that may shift quickly to adjust the demands of processing delivery.
- Liaise with the Shift Supervisor to assist in the management of workforce scheduling as needed to meet fluctuation demands, and coverage needs.
- Liaise with the Shift Supervisor on the daily tasks and jobs required
- Communicate with the Shift Supervisor any issues that may arise and work with the operators to resolve
ABOUT YOU
- Experience in a similar position operating a wet processing plant in particularly, 2 stage Crushing circuit, heavy media separation, grinding, flotation, reagents and filtration systems.
- Excellent people skills, whilst maintaining a positive approach in your day-to-day activities
- An organised individual, who can prioritise and delegate accordingly and takes ownership of their work and their team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with fine attention to detail
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software with advanced proficiency in Excel Spreadsheets.
- Current WA Driver’s licence
