Join a large Federal Government Department as ICT Project Manager!
Your new company
This large scale, core Federal Government agency based in Barton plays a crucial role in supporting the wider Government in a variety of advisory and operational capacities.
Your new role
Working out of the Department's Shared Services Division's PMO to lead the planning and delivery of various ERP initiatives. Your responsibilities would include:
- Lead the planning and manage the delivery of an ERP uplift for a small Non-Corporate Commonwealth Entity.
- Undertake project management activities including project planning and documentation (including procurement documents), implementation, monitoring and reporting on progress, providing recommendations about managing risk, and identifying and resolving problems.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including technology vendors and services providers to deliver system related projects on time, in scope and in budget.
- Provision of tactical, operational and strategic levels of engagement, decision making and advice through Project Workshops and other communication and engagement channels.
- Working collaboratively with other Project Managers within the PMO to ensure resources are effectively allocated across projects.
- Develop, maintain, and finalise project artefacts including project plans, statements of work, benefits realisation plans and other key documents.
- Make recommendations for continuous improvement in the PMO including sharing project management expertise, mentoring and training to other staff to build team capacity.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous project management experience and a strong understanding of project management processes and methodologies.
- Experience and knowledge of HR and Finance processes and/or an understanding of ERP technologies.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking skills including the ability to understand their role and functions of the PMO and how we contribute to Finance's objectives and those of the broader APS.
- Effective people skills as well as excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write high quality documents for a variety of audiences and in different formats.
- Strong analytical and research skills and an ability to interpret complex information.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, while remaining resilient and adaptable to changing plans and priorities
- Excellent judgement with an open and innovative approach to problem-solving.
