Objective:
Perdaman is seeking a professional and dedicated Civil Site Engineer for the Perdaman Project. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will support the Project in all Construction Engineering activities. The role will be based at the head office in Perth, Western Australia with easy access to public transport. Availability for travel is highly recommended since the Position will require the Resource to travel periodically from Perth to the Site in Karratha and stay over for a few days eventually, to fulfil the necessary Project needs and demands.
Job responsibilities:
- Preparation, implementation, revising, and updating of the Project Quality Assurance Plan, Quality Control Procedure and method statement when required by the QA/QC Manager.
- Attend subcontractor meetings to advise the status of Quality issues during site review meetings.
- Maintain quality records as required by the quality control plan, standards and specifications.
- Provide feedback to QA/QC Manager on all quality-related matters.
- Verify or ensure the processes at all stages are carried out as per the Project, ITP requirements, drawing and Contract specification.
- Advise personnel in taking appropriate correction & corrective actions on non-conformance.
- Review all submittals from subcontractors before final submission to the consultant.
- Supervise Subcontractors through daily ocular inspection if work is carried out according to an approved specification.
- Assisting Project QA/QC Manager to manage a field document control system for construction drawings, specifications, test and inspection reports, vendor data and as-built drawings.
- Reviewing the inspection for client representative/third party laboratory and subcontractors.
- Managing and ensuring proper usage of the site server including full document control, all files on the server trackable, and project data is updated to the Project Server.
- Inspect and monitor the material delivered to the site by approved drawings and specifications.
- Liaise with consultants and clients to resolve any problem on-site.
- Prepare Checklist and QA Records to be submitted to the Package Manager
- Submit weekly progress reports to the Package Manager
- Discuss all safety procedures with the subcontractor.
- Ensuring performance and delivery of engineering services to support project outcomes against agreed project budgets and schedules.
- Providing the project with ongoing engineering support while monitoring compliance with company, policies and design requirements.
- Coordination of a variety of stakeholders including the Project Engineering team, Site Supervision, Subcontractors, Clients and Vendors to deliver packages of work.
- Preparing technical specifications for equipment and package procurement.
- Promote safe work practices and environmental protection, ensuring that safety standards are respected.
- Ensure the fulfilment of the project quality and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with the Project Team on the set-up of the schedule.
- Give all information regarding the progress of the work indicating the cause of deviations between the program and the work carried out and propose solutions and/or request instructions to overcome these problems.
- Support the Construction Superintendent during data workflow set-up and its continuous monitoring.
- Support the resolution of technical problems encountered during the execution of the works.
- Support the Construction Superintendent and Supervisors during the verification of quantities accounts of the works, including updating man-hours and cost estimates for scope of work changes.
- Ensure the supervision and monitoring of the works performed, subcontracted or in direct hiring. Coordinate human and technical resources, indicating any needs or surpluses. Plan and monitor vendors or any specialists’ activities at the site.
- Coordinate with the Procurement Team the correct set-up of materials procurement flow; Ensure the preparation of RFQ during Bid and Executive Projects, including their TBE for final evaluation of Subcontracts and Services.
Requirements:
- A recognised Civil Engineering degree is mandatory.
- 2 to 4 Years of Experience on infrastructure or resource projects is desirable
- 2 to 4 Years of Sound knowledge of Civil & Earthworks construction is mandatory
- Understanding of relevant Australian or equivalent International concrete and steel standards is mandatory (Australian standards knowledge is desirable).
- Detailed understanding of construction specifications and QA requirements is mandatory
- Ability to use AutoCAD, Navisworks and Civil 3D is desirable.
- Previous experience in a site-based role within a Civil Engineering/Construction environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
