About the role
This is a great opportunity for an experienced and degree qualified Civil Engineer to join an Australian owned construction consultancy. The role has been created due to growth in the business and you will be reporting to senior management.
The key responsibility of this role will be to drive and deliver strategic goals for the company and its clients. You will develop client relationships to maximise repeat business opportunities as well as contribute to business development and long-term company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration
- Prepare progress claims, variations and extension of time claims
- Review tender and construction contracts
- Review progress payment certificates
- Liaise with clients regarding progress claims and contracts
Tenders
- Preparation of tender documentation
- Complete drawing checks and take-offs
- Compiling company information for submissions
- Submit tenders on time in accordance with tender documents
Estimating
- Assist in the development of construction cost estimates
- Request and obtain relevant quotes for tenders
- Liaise with suppliers, designers and subcontractors
Site Management
- Track construction progress against program
- Cost control
- Liaise with construction crews
- QA control and reporting
Key Skillset Required
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Solid experience working as a Project Engineer or Contracts Administrator
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience in quantity surveying/estimating
- Strong experience in tender processes and trade procurement
- Preparation of Contract variations and claims
- Assessing subcontractor variations
- Financial understanding and knowledge of construction costs
