About Burlington Berries
Burlington Berries is a family-owned soft fruit farm located in Cressy, Tasmania. We produce fresh and delicious strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries under polytunnels.
We employ the latest technologies and skills with an on-farm packing facility. We harvest fruit from May to October and due to expansion and diversification, we have a new role available in primary produce inspection and quality control.
The successful candidate will :
Work with the machinery team to improve performance, quality, cost, cycle time, and manufacturing efficiencies in fabrication, machinery and vehicle maintenance, and workshop, emphasising on farm safety and fulfilling critical deadlines. Provide practical support and mechanical advice to machinery and operations team. Ensure the wider business operates safely and in line with compliance frameworks.
Main Tasks:
· Responsible for the daily planning of the workshop so mechanical tasks are in line with the needs of the machinery and operations team.
· Maintain and service farm equipment, machinery, vehicles, and other farming plant as required. Including detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
· Identify, repair, and replace worn and defective parts, engines, and mechanical components using service manuals or computer diagnostic tools if required.
· Operate TIG MIG and stick welders as required.
· Perform services in line with service schedules for the full range of machinery, vehicles, and farming plant to ensure it is running efficiently in addition to maintaining service records.
· Maintain all company machinery, equipment, and fleet vehicles in accordance with safety compliance.
· Order spare parts and inventory parts in the workshop .
· Work with the machinery manager to ensure that all machinery operators are trained in accordance with the company's training matrix and SOPs and prestart checks.
· Provide technical advice in the areas of fabrication, machinery and vehicle maintenance, and workshop to the wider team.
· Maintain a clean, productive, and presentable workshop.
· Be responsible for OH&S in the workshop site to provide a safe working environment.

We offer a competitive salary starting from $60K plus superannuation to the right candidate depending on experience.
