About your new role
You'll join a dynamic and fun team who operate, maintain and manage the active assets associated with the sewage treatment plants and associated plants and equipment. You will:
- Assist in the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of a sewage treatment plant.
- Effectively communicate and work with all operators and other assistants based on the principles of teamwork.
- Comply with City of Gold Coast (City) Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection requirements.
- Report to operators for issues outside of Licence Quality Assurance and Integrated Environmental Management Systems requirements.

We're looking for people who have:
- Ability to work autonomously when required, as well as contribute to group objectives.
- A high level of interpersonal, negotiation, oral and written communication skills, including an ability to consult with a range of City personnel.
- Ability to multi-task in a changing environment and manage resources effectively to achieve work goals, deadlines and commitments.
- A desire to seek all relevant facts, think laterally and draw sound conclusions from available data and identify and propose effective solutions.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to contribute to the development of new operational policies.
- An ability to attain and maintain confined spaces certification and relevant machinery licences, training provided by the City.
