About the role
Position - experienced heritage carpenter, the job role is a permanent full-time position. Candidates will be expected to carry out all aspects of carpentry to a high standard and have advanced skills in heritage carpentry techniques.
Heritage sites are those sites that are listed on the World, National, Commonwealth, State or Local Government heritage listings.
Duties include:
- Understand heritage project drawings and specifications.
- Understand the specialist materials and techniques that are used in heritage restoration and conservation projects to advise on the timbers and other materials that will be required.
- Rebuild, repair, and restore timber building components, and other rotten or damaged timber elements/structures and fixtures with a high degree of craftmanship.
- Stay informed of the entire project scope including revisions, change orders to changes to the scope of work and the schedule.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to provide direction and support to other heritage project carpenters and subcontractors, maximising project efficiency.
- Understand and identify the approvals required to undertake work on heritage-listed sites.
- Ensure adherence to Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems throughout the projects.
- Other various onsite ad hoc tasks as required.
Experience and requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of heritage experience.
- Have completed trade certification.
- Worked on heritage sites.
- Advanced skills in heritage techniques in carpentry.
- Hold a current White Card (General Construction Induction Card).
- Valid NSW driver's licence.
- Have a strong attention to detail and finishing touches.
- Good work ethic.
- Good communication.
- Be a collaborative team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively in group settings.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
