Land Use Victoria within Planning & Land Services provides authoritative, comprehensive and easily accessible services in land administration, property information and facilitating the better use of government owned land. It ensures secure and accurate registration services for property, plan and water share transactions. It provides a range of statutory and non-statutory functions including surveying services to support the major transport infrastructure projects and the broader DTP.
About The Role
This role will be responsible for the provision of a broad range of survey services including, but not limited to, data capture and processing feature, cadastral and monitoring surveys for the transport portfolio and whole of Government. Ability to work with limited supervision and adhere to DTP standards and guidelines, compliance with legislation, internal specifications and safe work practices in the field employing a combination of internal and external resources.

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
- Exercise professional independent judgement in the assessment and management of survey activities, including both field and office activities. Effectively manage, motivate and develop less experienced team members.
- Provide high level advice to key stakeholders, including external and internal clients and Lead - Survey Operations on complex cadastral and engineering issues and improvement initiatives.
- Exercise professional independent judgement in the development of quotes and briefs for contractors and monitor and audit contract work to ensure work is carried out to the required standard, timeframe and budget.
- Exercise professional independent judgment and discretion in project management, planning, developing and conducting surveys by utilising the appropriate technology, procedures and resources.
- Negotiate with and influence clients and contractors on complex work issues and requirements in order to achieve successful outcomes based on effective delivery of works within scope, cost and timeframes.

Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant or a related discipline along with previous experience across a broad range of engineering survey services.
- Ability to travel, work and stay overnight across locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria outside normal working hours as reasonably required for the role.
Desirable
- Drivers licence.
- Ability to undertake evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel for one or more nights at a time.
- May be required to undertake a medical and other safety compliance requirements.
