Location: Echuca yard, on-site as required (expected 65-35 split). Allowances awarded for on-site work.
- You will be responsible for SFC fleet management and maintenance, including Drill Rigs, Piling Rigs, Telehandlers, Excavators, Skid Steers and all attachments, augers, etc.
- Your day will consist of machinery and maintenance repairs, logistics and computer work; ordering spare parts, service logs, supplier communications, and liaising with SFC management to co-ordinate works.
Job Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicle/plant engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct maintenance work (replacing fluids aiming to vehicle and plant functionality and longevity. Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (eg. Leaks)
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise management and operators on good vehicle/plant use & provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Keep detailed and accurate logs on works done and issues found to minimize time on future repair work. Maintain accurate inventory records, oversee supplies ordering, and implement effective inventory control measures. Prepare routine administrative paperwork, including reports, documentation, and compliance records.
- Utilize database management skills to organize and maintain inventory data efficiently.
- Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels, using good awareness of costing and sourcing various quotes.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
- Coordinate and optimize logistics and transportation activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of machinery to designated sites.
- Analyze and solve problems related to plant and machinery, logistics, and inventory management.
- Work autonomously to make informed decisions that contribute to the overall efficiency of plant and inventory operations.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of proven work experience in a relevant field (mechanic, fitter, boiler maker, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of plant and machinery, logistics, and transport operations.
- Strong understanding of supplies, equipment, and services ordering processes
- Proficient in reconciling stock counts and generating accurate reports.
- Database management skills for efficient organization of inventory data.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and solve problems.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
