About The OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a
Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join the Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Program based in Osborne, SA. The DCE program will provide a number of capability upgrades to the existing Hobart Class guided missile destroyers (DDGs).
Reporting to the Verification and Acceptance Manager, the Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer is primarily responsible for verifying platform system requirements which have been validated by the Test and Commissioning team. The Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineer will work in small team of V&V Engineers and will work closely with the Test and Commissioning team.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Verify platform system requirements through the review and submission of documentation and evidence
- Review platform system requirements by assessing changes and resolving issues
- Review test documents including system & subsystem specifications, test procedures, test reports and change reports
- Create or revise supporting documentation including plans, templates, reviews, minutes, presentations and agendas
- Prepare and distribute metrics on the V&V program as required
- Interact with Operations, Quality and Engineering teams to ensure robust engineering solutions are selected
- Work with external stakeholders such as the customer, regulatory authorities and sub-contractors to develop the V&V program as required
- Support the engineering community and the DCE program in their understanding of the V&V program
- Conduct all V&V activities safely and in accordance with processes and policies
About YOU
- Experience: Experience of Verification and Validation is desirable, with a good understanding of Systems Engineeringpractices and methods in a complex environment
- Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Engineering) or similar
- Outcomes focused: Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multi task simultaneously
- Communication skills: Superior communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers at all levels
- Integrity: Demonstrated professional integrity and advanced level of technical knowledge
- Continuous improvement: A focus on always improving, with the ability to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities
- Defence Clearances: Possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate defence security clearance and eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR)regulations
