THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Process Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading the processing production crew activities to ensure the safe and efficient running of the plant and the tailings storage facility to produce a quality concentrate, in line with client specifications and to achieve production targets.
In this role, you will be required to get amongst the day-to-day operation of the plant, therefore it is essential you have significant experience working in a similar role, ideally on a complex processing plant with a solid understanding of a heavy metal production plant such as lithium, nickel, copper or gold.
This is a permanent full-time position which operates on a FIFO 8/6, 7/7 roster (day & night shift) from Perth or DIDO from Port Hedland.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver the production plan safely and on-budget by scheduling and assigning work to team members, establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems, and reporting results
- Develop team capability by coaching, counselling, and developing team members in accordance with their required competencies
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing team members on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources in line with established policies and procedures
- Conduct incident investigations, daily pre-start meetings and participates in risk identification
- Address individual and team issues by investigating presenting problems; identifying solutions, and recommending actions
- Assist in projects as assigned by Plant Production leadership
ABOUT YOU
- Significant experience in operating a wet processing plant in particularly, 2 stage Crushing circuit, heavy media separation, grinding, flotation, reagents, and filtration systems.
- Excellent people management skills, whist maintaining a positive approach in your day-to-day activities
- Qualification in Frontline Leadership or Management
- Confined Space Permit Issuer and Space Perm Holder
- Certificate IV Process Plant Operation and training and assessing (desirable)
- Results driven, with a successful track record of delivering on KPIs, whilst showing humility in everything you do
- An organised individual, who can prioritise and delegate accordingly and takes ownership of their work and their team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with fine attention to detail
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software with proficiency in Excel Spreadsheets
- Proficiency in the use of control systems, Citect/Scada and Pronto
- Current WA Driver’s licence
