The Role
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from versatile and experienced Project Managers to lead civil infrastructure projects across a diverse range of sectors including transport, aged care, social housing, water, and local council or state government initiatives.
Successful candidates will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Our roles require strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to effectively coordinate project teams, engage with stakeholders, and drive successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate project activities, resources, and logistics to ensure efficient project execution and alignment with project objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, facilitate effective communication, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Scope Management:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in consultation with stakeholders.
- Monitor scope changes and implement change control processes as necessary to manage scope creep and ensure project alignment with objectives.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and financial forecasts.
- Identify cost variances, analyse budget performance, and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization, control project costs, and maximise project profitability.
Risk Management and Mitigation:
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project delivery.
- Develop risk management plans and mitigation strategies to minimize risk exposure and ensure project success.
- Proactively address issues and challenges to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Procurement and Contract Management:
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Administer contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship on project sites.
- Implement health and safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices to deliver high-quality solutions that meet project objectives.
- Implement quality control measures, conduct inspections, and enforce adherence to specifications and standards.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular progress reports, status updates, and documentation for clients, stakeholders, and internal stakeholders.
- Communicate project status, key milestones, issues, and risks effectively and transparently.
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on civil infrastructure projects across multiple sectors.
- Strong technical knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methodologies, and infrastructure systems.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively lead project teams, build rapport with stakeholders, and resolve conflicts.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage competing priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
