About the role
The General Manager Projects role is pivotal for the Evolution Group and will be the subject matter expert for all project delivery from the end of feasibility studies to complete construction.
Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer, your remit will be to deliver excellence across the following:
- High Level: Review and ensure that our project management framework, governance, methodology, supporting tools and templates are aligned with the Evolution culture and ways of working. This will be achieved through high levels of engagement with key stakeholders across the business to ensure an excellent understanding of the business, site and functional challenges and learnings from previous projects and ensuring strong alignment with the Leadership team and the Investment Management Committee.
- Consult: Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, review capital budgets and Capital Expenditure Requests across the Group and recommend the best level of project control required to successfully undertake the work.
- Value: Implement capital plans in line with agreed budgets, tracked appropriately; identify areas of opportunities during project delivery to bring more value to the organisation; manage project deviation and re-align to the agreed-upon budget scope, cost, and timeline.
- Safety: Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through identifying potential risks throughout Evolution.
- Plan: Develop plans aligned with the Company’s overall strategy and long-term Mineral Resources and Ore Reserve plans, make recommendations and coordinate to maintain project delivery sustainability from development to execution. Participate in project committees to contribute ideas, help with the decision-making process and ensure that standards are followed across the organisation.
- Communicate: Provide relevant reporting to the CTO, Investment Management Committee, and Leadership Team on successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement across the group.
- Rapport: Develop strong working relationships across the Group by clear and frequent communication, including regular site visits during project development phase.
- Lead: Build project management capability across the business by coaching, mentoring and delivering workshops.
- Exhibit: Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values, leadership behaviours and principles of engagement.
About you
To be successful in this role you are an analytical and communicative leader with an appropriate balance of business and technical acumen. Furthermore, you will have the following qualifications competencies and experience:
- Mining or related Heavy Industry experience and an Engineering degree is essential
- Registered Project Manager (Reg PM) or equivalent.
- Demonstrable project delivery and management experience
- Extensive relevant technical and commercial experience.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in a similar role.
- Operational management experience.
- Demonstrable experience in influencing change.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, at Boards and Leadership team level.
- Able to develop strong working relationships across multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business.
