The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Defence Design Manager to join our national Defence Design team, based in either Perth or Darwin. In this pivotal role, you will lead the transformation of how we design and execute major projects, ensuring that our infrastructure meets the critical needs of national security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design management of major Defence/CFI projects with contract values exceeding $10 million.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with Capital Facilities and Infrastructure (CFI) at the Department of Defence.
- Build and strengthen connections within the Defence Design network, including contractors, project managers, competitors, and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the Industry Leader, Defence Design, to strategically advance the Defence Design portfolio.

What I'm Looking For:
I am seeking individuals who are passionate about problem-solving and continuous learning, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience as a Design Manager on CFI design projects.
- Strong leadership capabilities in design management and contract leadership.
- Expertise in managing or contributing to large Defence tenders, particularly within DSC and DSSC formats, with a background in proposal writing and fee setting.
- A solid foundation in design, whether as an engineer, architect, or in a related discipline.
- A tertiary qualification in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- NV1 security classification or the ability to obtain this clearance (Australian citizenship is essential).
