About The Role
Reporting to the Chief Building Regulator, be at the forefront of regulatory transformation in Queensland, play a strategic role that extends across various regional locales, connecting and integrating regional offices into the broader vision of the QBCC.
- Strategic Leadership: Direct operations across multiple regional settings in line with QBCC strategic goals;
- Cultural and Operational Transformation: Lead initiatives that foster cultural shifts and enhance operational effectiveness;
- Risk and Compliance Oversight: Manage complex risk portfolios ensuring compliance with the highest industry standards. Report on issues that impact on the achievement of the QBCC's strategic goals and objectives;
- Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate strong, strategic relationships to bolster regional and state-wide initiatives;
- Project Management Excellence: Oversee and ensure the seamless delivery of regional projects aligned with strategic and fiscal objectives.
About You
We seek a leader with extensive experience in governmental or similar roles, well-versed in navigating complex organisational structures and capable of driving significant change.
- Leadership Profile: Demonstrated success in leading large multidisciplinary teams across significant geographic spans. Experience leading within government settings (or related statutory bodies) is highly regarded. A team player, fostering collaboration and connectedness;
- Strategic Insight: Exceptional strategic thinking capabilities with a proven track record in policy and strategic development;
- Industry Knowledge: A keen understanding of regional dynamics is fundamental to this role. Knowledge and experience within the construction sector is well regarded, but not essential;
- Communication Skills: Outstanding ability to articulate and negotiate, fostering robust stakeholder engagement. The ability to effectively convey ideas and build strong relationships is paramount; and
- Innovative Problem-solving: Skilled in identifying challenges and driving collaborative solutions.
