Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Strategy Development: Develop and prepare landscape designs and documentation for complex parkland and road landscape projects.
- High-Quality Delivery: Ensure timely and budget-conscious delivery of designs within the overall design program.
- Cost Estimates: Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for the design and installation of landscape projects.
- Budget Management: Develop project design budgets and report any variances against approved budgets.
- Consultancy Services: Source, select, and manage required consultancy services.
- Policy Implementation: Prepare, review, and lead the implementation of landscape policies, strategies, and guidelines.
- Future Project Opportunities: Identify opportunities for future landscape projects and develop both short- and long-term implementation strategies.
- Development Advisory: Provide advice to the Development Assessment Branch and Parks Planning staff regarding road landscape and parkland issues associated with Development Approvals.
Performance Criteria:
- Achieve client and stakeholder satisfaction through high-quality service delivery.
- Consistently meet time and budget targets.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and design budgets.
- Deliver high-quality landscape designs and documentation.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum 4-year degree) in Landscape Architecture or a related design field accredited by the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).
- Proven experience in landscape architecture, with the ability to autonomously deliver high-quality designs and documentation.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and documenting major landscape works, particularly in public open spaces.
- Broad knowledge of park management issues.
- Proficiency in freehand graphics, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, desktop publishing, presentation software, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in preparing reports, utilizing Excel, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Microsoft Office.
