Role Description
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Manager to utilise their trade background and expertise is available. The Residential Construction Manager is a critical role in the company's leadership team, overseeing the transition of projects from design to construction. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading and motivating a team of Site Supervisors while ensuring allocated budgets, time frames, quality, and safety standards on all projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Managing Director and providing regular updates on project progress and milestones.
- Managing a highly skilled team including Site Supervisors, Estimator, Project Manager, along with various trades and labourers.
- Effectively facilitating the transition of residential projects from design to construction, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and ensuring timely and defect-free project completion.
- Ensuring that all tasks conform to contractual agreements and approved drawings.
- Conducting comprehensive inspections during the construction phase to maintain quality.
- Ensuring that the Onsite Companion project management system is kept up to date during the build process.
- Ensuring homes are complete on handover to customer satisfaction.
- Employing sound judgement and decision-making skills to troubleshoot construction and maintenance issues.
- Ensuring construction is carried out safely and in accordance with company Safety Management System and the WH&S legislation and internal operating systems.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Construction Manager with low-rise timber framed home builders, ideally with a background in carpentry.
- Proficiency in Onsite companion software is essential.
- Experience managing a team of Site Supervisors.
- Trade Qualified Carpenter or relevant qualifications
- Strong understanding and knowledge of NCC and legislation.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Must hold a White Card and full Driver's licence.
- Proactive approach to anticipating construction challenges and providing compliant solutions.
- Excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
