Position Overview
The Site Supervisor will be required to oversee construction projects and supervise the construction team. As the Site Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, from start to finish. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing all on-site activities, ensuring safety compliance, quality control, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Direct and manage the onsite supervision of staff, workers, visitors, and sub-contractors.
• Responsible for ensuring all works are constructed in accordance with current contract documents, council & engineer ITPs within the allocated program.
• Ensure site adherence to all local, regulatory and company WHS requirements and Acts. Inclusion of site inductions and collection/review/sign-off of SWMS.
• Manage workers to resolve conflicts in a calm and effective manner.
• Undertake quality assurance inspections and checks to ensure workmanship is being completed to no less than acceptable industry standards and always to a minimum of National Construction Code, Building Code of Australia and Australian Standards requirements.
• In conjunction with Project Managers prepare, update, and implement a construction program to achieve practical completion as required.
• Read and interpret building plans, specifications, and legislative requirements to explain clearly and effectively what is required.
• Project finalisation tasks including internal defects inspection/s and co-ordination of rectification works as required.
• Collect, review, and submit all certifications, test reports, warranties, As-builts Plans as required to achieve Certificate of Occupancy/Classification before client specified opening date.
• Effectively and regularly communicate (verbal & written) with Project Managers and key stakeholders on the delivery of the project. Clearly identifying/actioning RFI's, Site Instructions, Variations and ensuring any delays which impact construction are reported and documented.
• Conducting all activities in accordance with the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management System.
Skills and Qualifications
• Tertiary or trade qualification in a building related field (Mandatory)
• White Card
• Crystalline Silica Exposure Prevention Card
• Asbestos Awareness Card
• Valid Drivers Licence
• A stable track record in delivering of construction projects up to $5m as a Site Supervisor
• Experienced in management of subcontractors
• Manage programme, schedule and sequence trades effectively
• A natural ability to drive the project forward all the while maintaining and developing relationships with subcontractors, consultants and clients alike
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and building regulations
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently
• Great work ethic, reliable, honest & pro-active attitude
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practice
• Proficient in project management software/tools such as Procore and SignOnSite
