Mills Recruitment is seeking a skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our client’s team. Our client is a leader in delivering high-impact projects across Australia, including mines, minerals processing facilities, LNG installations, refineries, chemical plants, power stations, procurement services, and telecommunications.
Project Overview: The Ar Rjum Project is an exciting greenfield gold mining development located in the Central Arabian Gold Region. This ambitious project includes three open-pit mining operations with associated waste dumps, ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and essential infrastructure such as water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and accommodation villages. Situated approximately 200 km northeast of Taif and 26 km south of Al Mouwayh, this project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a significant mining endeavor in a remote and challenging environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of civil engineering work, including the design and preparation of layouts, drawings, and specifications for structures, roadways, bridges, culverts, and other infrastructure.
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate civil components and processes, adhering to Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), Design Control Check List (DCCL), and Design Review Notices (DRNs).
- Provide input into drainage design for plant areas, including sizing of stormwater ponds and culverts.
- Originate and review complex civil engineering deliverables, such as drainage and road pavement calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Analyse design challenges, develop sketches, and propose solutions for unconventional materials, techniques, and coordination requirements.
- Guide designers during material take-offs and balancing cut-and-fill quantities.
- Plan and coordinate equipment, work, and material specifications, and conduct bid evaluations with award recommendations.
- Assist project and construction management in meeting civil engineering requirements and resolving issues during project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
- Proficient in civil engineering discipline, with experience in designing and coordinating complex projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve a wide range of issues creatively.
- Experience working with a team of designers in a dynamic environment.
