Barker Ryan Stewart currently has a Civil/Development Engineer/ Compliance Inspector position available in our Hunter office to assist with providing civil engineering inspections,development engineering, and certification and project management services for a wide range of subdivisions and infrastructure projects.
The role provides an exciting opportunity to grow within our certification and project management teams and can potentially lead to becoming a Registered Certifier for subdivisions and a TfNSW Project Verifier.

Key responsibilities:
- Carry out civil engineering works compliance inspections related to subdivisions and civil infrastructure works.
- Provision of development engineering, subdivision certification and project managementdevelopment engineering services.
- Carry out civil engineering works compliance inspections.
- Project management and construction supervision for a wide variety of road infrastructure and subdivision projects.
- Work towards becoming a Registered Certifier for subdivisions and a TfNSW Project Verifier.
- Meeting with clients, councils, TfNSW, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to successfully deliver projects.
- Review and apply relevant engineering guidelines and QA documentation.
- Review, interpret and assess DA consents and design drawings.
About you:
A minimum of 2 years’ development engineering, project management civil works construction compliance or contractor works experience for a council, consultant, civil contractor or TfNSW.
Relevant qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Council’s Engineering Guidelines.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Relevant qualification in civil engineering or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Council’s Engineering Guidelines.
Experience with and good understanding of the subdivision approval process in NSW.
