The Opportunity
Lead the Health, Safety and Environment function within a well-established manufacturing business across Western Australia and Queensland, reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be developing and leading the implementation of the safety culture across different branches, with a strong focus on implementing safety management systems.
Your Duties
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders to implement proactive safety behaviour and to model and drive safe operations to eliminate risks within their departments.
- Lead the implementation of the Health, Safety and Environment management systems.
- Drive compliance for safety programs and processes to ensure there is a consistent standard of identifying, assessing and managing risks that may be present.
- Assess feedback from department leads and senior management and act accordingly to improve safety policies.
- Interact with main stakeholders to understand how to successfully manage their risks and add value to their operations and business strategy.
- Travel to multiple sites across Australia as part of your role.
Your Background
- Relevant Health and Safety qualifications, Cert IV WHS as a minimum.
- Experience in cultural development and safety management, preferably with experience within a OEM or Manufacturing environment.
- Robust understanding and knowledge of national HSEQ laws and regulations.
- Strong problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Great communication skills - Able to communicate well with small or large audiences and pass credibility to all safety related matters.
