There is an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team in the Office of Industrial Relations. We are looking for a project coordinator experienced in office accommodation fitouts and refurbishments. The role is based in Brisbane but may be required to travel intrastate.
As the Senior Project Coordinator you will work with limited supervision as part of the Finance, Facilities & Procurement team in the Business & Corporate Services directorate to deliver contemporary and cost-effective accommodation related projects including refurbishments, fitouts, relocations and lease management. You will be given the opportunity to travel to projects sites within SE Queensland and collaborate with key stakeholders, other government agencies and service providers.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Lead key projects as required, including leases and accommodation projects, project planning, scoping, resourcing, minor works coordination and delivery and the direct engagement and management of external architectural, planning and other related resources.
- Ensure assigned projects and programs of work are managed in accordance with the Department's strategy, policies, systems and procedures, and according to Office Accommodations Management Framework, and other relevant whole-of-government policy and guidelines.
- Coordinate preparation of office designs and options to ensure the end product complements the existing facilities and achieves a cost-effective built solution with regards to site conditions, end user requirements, infrastructure availability, budget parameters and all environmental conditions.
- Coordinate internal resources, external consultants, government and external building contractors, stakeholders and other business units to ensure project objectives and delivery timeframes are achieved.
- Complete procurement activities in alignment with OIR policies and procedures
- Identify emerging issues, risks, and priorities that may impact project delivery and proactively respond with strategies to address these impacts and mitigate delays
- Prepare timely and well researched correspondence, briefings, reports and submissions to meet reporting requirements and to support decision making by clients and management.
- Develop, manage and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and networks to ensure all projects achieve the desired objectives and identified benefits.
Key Capabilities
- Demonstrated achievement in effectively managing and completing multiple office accommodation projects and managing minor works and maintenance programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to interpret and apply government requirements, relevant policies as they relate to office accommodation projects.
- Demonstrated well-developed communication, negotiation, consultation, and collaboration skills including the proven ability to prepare and write high-level correspondence, presentations and reports.
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders and influence these parties to achieve organisational objectives.
- Well-developed organisational skills, including the proven ability to multi-task, demonstrate sound judgement and work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
The incumbent may be required to travel intrastate on official business and the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required.
