In Design and Construct (D&C), we delight our customers by being a trusted and safety conscious delivery partner, providing excellence in design, construction, resiliency, and project solutions for their telecommunication infrastructure. The focus of this role is to provide subject matter expertise, guidance, advice on all things Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environment (HSWE), to support InfraCo’ s D&C team delivering on all programs of work. The expected outcomes will be ensuring a safe and sustainable delivery of all D&C Programs & Projects, meeting all HSWE procedures & Policies.

What You’ll Do
Telstra InfraCo - Operations & Asset Management oversees Telstra's operations and asset management functions.
As a Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Specialist, you play an important role in supporting Telstra to understand and embrace the HS&E standards and compliance requirements to ensure a safe workplace for all.
You thrive on collaborating with stakeholders and leverage your fantastic inter-personal skills to advise and promote a safe and healthy organisational culture. Through your dedication to HS&E at Telstra, you help ensure the organisation and its employees operate and thrive with a full understand of what is required to be safe and healthy at work.
As a Business Partner HSWE you are passionate about collaborating with Telstra’s internal stakeholders to advise and promote a safe and healthy organisational culture.
You play a vital role in contributing strategic advice and expertise ensuring the optimal management of Telstra’s HSWE performance, which is vital for the organisation and its employees so that Telstra operates and thrives in a safe work environment.
Role Responsibilities:
Leverage technical knowledge and experience in HSWE to provide advice and offer practical solutions to D&C workforce and leaders, interpreting Telstra and regulatory advice.
Contribute to the delivery of key initiatives to ensure continual improvement in HSWE across field and office based activities.
Gather relevant HSWE information, analysing data and preparing reports and updates as required for D&C leaders.
Review project documentation to ensure that delivery partners and internal teams comply with Telstra and regulatory requirements, including Safety Work Method Statements (SWMS), HSWE Management Plans, Risk Profiles, Risk Assessments and Emergency Management Plans.
Support with incident investigations, working with SSW and D&C to establish a root cause recommendation to mitigate future risk.
Coordinate the D&C HSWE Committee, ensuring regular consultation and communication between D&C workforce and leadership.
Support Assurance activities through effective planning and delivery of HSWE inspections.
Engage and influence various stakeholders to promote a positive and inspiring safety culture.
Leverage strong inter-personal skills to partner and collaborate with subject matter experts across functions.

Key Competencies:
A qualification in HSWE or related discipline.
At least (3 years) proven experience as a member of a dedicated HSWE team.
Can demonstrate a collaborative approach to managing HSWE in complex programs of work (design, construction or field based preferred)
Proven experience of interpreting HSWE data and preparing reports.
Can deliver favourable results using negotiation and issue resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence management decisions based on risk management principles
A history of maintaining effective working relationships with peer groups and key internal and external stakeholders.
