Boss Energy owns the Honeymoon uranium mine in South Australia, which is fully licensed for uranium exports of up to 3.3mlb and is run by an industry experienced team of mining professionals. With the recent purchase of a 30% stake in the Alta Mesa Uranium Project in South Texas USA, Boss Energy has reaffirmed its vision to become a global uranium supplier.
About The Role
We are currently looking for a Control Room Operator responsible for managing and monitoring the processing plant from a central control room. The main focus of the role is to ensure the plant operates safely and efficiently by identifying and resolving issues, performing routine inspections, and collaborating with various departments to optimize performance. This role will be a combintion of day and night shift on a rotating roster.
The role will be FIFO from Adelaide charter terminal direct to the Honeymoon mine site on an 8:6 roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the mining company's processing plant from a centralized control room
- Ensure that the plant operates safely and in compliance with environmental regulations
- Monitor plant equipment and processes to detect and resolve issues as quickly as possible
- Perform routine plant checks and inspections and report any issues to maintenance staff
- Record and report plant data, including production, equipment performance, and maintenance activities
- Follow standard operating procedures, including start-up and shut-down procedures, to ensure safe and efficient plant operation
- Respond to alarms and emergency situations as needed and take appropriate action
- Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, wellfield, and production to optimize plant performance
- Participate in safety and environmental programs and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
About You
You will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Experience in plant operations or a related field, preferably in the mining industry
- Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule, including nights and weekends
- Willingness to comply with all safety and environmental regulations and policies
