Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role:
We are currently seeking a Payroll Manager to join the Payroll team in our Cooma office on a 5/2 (M-F) Roster. The Payroll Manager will oversee and manage FGJV’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to this nation-building infrastructure project in a highly challenging role and unique environment. This position requires a team player and someone who thrives on a fast paced and varied role.
There is flexibility to FIFO (M-F) from Sydney, with company housing provided!

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field – preferred
- White Card
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years experience in Payroll
- Minimum of 1 years' experience in a supervisory role - preferred
Required Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with payroll software.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Advising payroll team members about taxes and employment laws on salary
- Calculating wage increments, overtime payments and public holiday pay
