Purpose of the Role:
This position is accountable for the day-to-day coordination of site based HSE governance activities and construction team support to ensure that FGJV maintains a healthy and safe working environment for all personnel, in accordance with FGJV Health & Safety Management system and client specifications.
Qualifications:
- Formal HS Qualifications such as Cert IV – Workplace Health & Safety or similar
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment - desirable
- White Card
- C Class driver’s license
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in Healthy & Safety, preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience working on large scale construction projects or other suitable projects works

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities: - Interpretation and application of relevant HSE Acts, Regulations, Australian Standards and Codes of Practice.
- Completion of audits and risk assessments.
- Provide advice and support to the construction management team to ensure compliance with statutory, FGJV and client HS obligations;
- Implementation of Health & Safety (HS) plans and subsidiary systems documentation;
- Communication of HSE issues / standards;
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Area HSE Activity Schedule;
- Coordinate implementation of the HSE Activity Schedule and initiatives, including but not necessarily limited to:
- HSSE Compliance Audits
- Workplace Inspections
- Emergency Drills and Exercises.
- Support the area HSE team and ensure they are properly resourced to meet the obligations of the HSE Activity Schedule;
- Assist in identifying HSE training requirements
- HS analysis and reporting of FGJV lead and lag targets to Project Management;
- Ensure all incident event investigations are properly conducted, recorded and information closed out in accordance with FGJV HSSE Management System timeframes;
- Promote a dynamic and positive HSSE culture focused on achieving success;
- Coach and mentor HSE Advisors;
- Ensure HSE representation is maintained at key construction planning and coordination meetings.
