We are seeking a Junior Workplace Health & Safety Consultant / Cadet to join our rapid growing team. Some of the key aspects to this role are as follows:
- Working remotely (as required) – and will report to the Principal
- Regional projects – travel may be required involved
- Trade background preferred, although not mandatory
Please note this can be a temp contract for the right person. However we are looking for a long term solution.
We will provide the training and education in a Cert IV in WHS
The Package
Ranging from 40k - 60k per annum for the right person. Phone and laptop provided. Short term contract positions also available. We are looking for a PAYG staff member not a sub-consultant in this instance.
The Company:
Due to our rapid growth - we have an exciting opportunity for a new cadet in the Workplace, Health & Safety space to join our team. This role will be based in Brisbane, Queensland.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring our client’s work complies with all WHS legislative requirements and all staff are familiar with company WHS policies and procedures
- Develop, document, implement and review safety risk management in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Perform full range of responsibilities of Workplace Safety and Health Officer (as required)
- Site Establishment and Planning
- Assist site management in the setup, implementation and ongoing review of WHS Management system.
- Be first point of call for first aid on site, maintain first aid kits / stock when required.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and task observations
- Organising and executing site safety meetings as required
- Assist with workers compensation claims and rehabilitation processes
- Developing, checking and monitoring Safe Work Method Statements
- Management and education of clients that engage Oversight Consulting
- Conducting monthly safety reports for management
- Perform monthly toolbox talks and safety alerts for remote teams
- Conduct WHS inductions for new employees and monitor personnel files (training needs analysis)
- Undertake risk assessments as required
- Maintaining safety files and safety systems
- Conducting formal incident investigations when necessary
- Ensuring and maintaining ISO compliance
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience with Microsoft office suite
- Experienced with construction is ideal but not everything
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- A team player / likeable person
