The Moonshine Labs helps startups with limited technical knowledge and resources take their first steps in the market. We build websites, mobile applications and other software which creates the digital presence for these early stage businesses.
We have an opportunity for two roles within our organisation:
- Project co-ordinator (Full time)
- Product manager (2-3 days per week)
The planned start dates for these roles are November 2024.
These two roles will work closely together to help the founders of startups create a product roadmap, a corresponding technical backlog of work, then estimate the levels of effort for implementation so that the stakeholders (typically the founders and Moonshine Lab management) can prioritise the backlog items into development sprints that meet the startup’s time and budget parameters.
Once the roadmap is set and broken into sprints, we then manage those sprints through to completion and work with the team to understand the evolving requirements and the backlogs, adapting the plans as required, generally on a 90 day cycle.
We have a multi-modal delivery platform for technology. This involves a core in-house team of designers, UI/UX specialists as well as front and back end developers located in our Kent Town office. We also have work which can flow to a number of local contractors and in appropriate cases, sent to our outsource partners in Sri Lanka.
Solid experience in working on projects with these multi-modal delivery scenarios with on-shore and off-shore partners is a key consideration for these roles. Having worked as a local representative for an offshore development company or having significant experience in successfully managing technical projects through an offshore provider will be highly regarded. Having worked on both enterprise and startup projects will be beneficial.
Listed below are the requirements for both roles. We understand these are diverse requirements and different people can bring different things to the table, so we hiring the two roles at the same time so we can look at the combination of people who will best meet these overall needs across this entire list;
- Clearly demonstrated experience in working with multiple delivery methods including in-house, local outsource and offshore outsourcing.
- A demonstrated passion for early stage ventures and an understanding of ‘failing fast’ and then iterating in response to those learnings.
- An understanding of and experience in enterprise software development.
- Contribute to product and project discussions with both the client and Moonshine.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with clients, internal teams, and Senior Management to ensure the achievement of project objectives.
- Report on project statuses and risks to the senior management on a regular basis and implement risk mitigation strategies as required.
- Produce and manage documentation and reports related to ongoing projects.
- Establish and manage project scopes and project scope changes.
- Be an internal advocate for the startup by having a strong understanding of their business.
- Communicate with the various parties completing work to manage timesheets to ensure accurate invoicing at the end of each month.
- Facilitate the resolution of obstacles and address points requiring clarification to ensure the seamless execution of the project.
- Compile necessary documentation, including statements of work for upcoming projects.
Each role may be required to provide assistance on an ad-hoc basis to our related company, the Distillery, who provide similar services for corporate innovation and digital transformation.
