JOB OVERVIEW: Responsible for the provision of ground maintenance services, safe and efficient operations of mowing machinery to ensure our client’s landscaped grounds are maintained as per the site schedule and specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION:

SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
Be proactive in identifying hazards, developing safety procedures, and encouraging continuous improvement in relation to HSE.
Assist in identifying hazards, advising on safety procedures, and monitoring work practices to ensure adherence to correct procedures and standards for safety and environmental performance. Support the Sterling corporate quality, safety, health, and environmental management systems by:
- Reporting to your Manager or QHSE Officer/Manager any situation that could result in harm to a person, the environment or may adversely affect the services we provide our customers.
- Report to your Manager or QHSE Officer/Manager any opportunities that you believe would improve the quality of service we provide our customers or could reduce the potential for harm to people or the environment.
- Understand and support the annual QHSE objectives.
To immediately pause or make safe any work condition or activity that could result in immediate harm and immediately notify either by phone or in person the responsible line manager and the QHSE adviser or Director.
Leading and promoting the implementation of the integrated management systems for Quality, Safety, Health and the Environment.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Communicate with internal and external customers on a day to day basis, to plan work, keep
them informed of progress, resolve any issues of concern, and identify variations or additional work.
OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE
- Mow Lawns using ride on mowers (front deck & Ztrack).
- Remove litter from garden beds and driveways.
- Remove dead branches and leaves.
- Performing routine maintenance on mowing equipment
- Tasks to be carried out in a manner that causes the least inconvenience to customers, staff and the general public.
- Temporary warning signs placed when required.
- Operate equipment and machinery in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and the SNT operating procedures
- Report maintenance and repair issues to the area supervisor.
- Understand and comply with quality, safety, health and environmental policies.
- Follow written instructions, verbal direction and procedures to perform work.

Skills and Experiences: SELECTION CRITERIA:
ESSENTIALS:
- Class C Driver’s Licence (manual)
- Ability to work under supervision and as a team member.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
- A satisfactory National Police Security Check Report.
- Be physically able to perform the duties of the position
- Be able to perform manual work for long periods outdoors
DESIRABLE:
- Certificate I or equivalent qualification in horticulture.
- Working with Children Card (or be willing to obtain)
