Role Overview
As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for managing civil design and documentation across a variety of urban, land, and subdivision projects, serving both public and private sector clients. You will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and drafters to resolve design challenges, coordinate projects, and ensure successful project delivery. This role will also see you play a key part in shaping the strategic direction of the team and representing the company in client-facing roles.
You will balance technical design responsibilities with business development, client management, and team leadership. Your ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities will be essential as you contribute to the performance and growth of their Toowoomba office.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil design, coordination, and project management for urban, land, and subdivision projects, from feasibility through to completion.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and specifications.
- Provide expert technical advice to clients and support ongoing projects.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.
- Conduct and oversee site inspections.
- Contribute to the advancement of civil engineering knowledge within the team, focusing on planning, design, and construction.
- Mentor and develop engineers, designers, and drafters at all levels.
- Directly manage a team, ensuring their performance and development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
- Support business development activities to secure and deliver new projects.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Proven experience in civil engineering design and project delivery, particularly in urban, land, and subdivision projects.
- A solid understanding of current civil engineering technologies, including design, modelling, and construction practices.
- Strong project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Relevant professional registration and accreditation.
- Experience in team leadership and mentoring.
