How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne:
The Project Officer Waste and Recycling Hubs assists the Project Manager Waste and Recycling Hubs in the delivery of new communal waste and recycling hub facilities across the central city as part of the City of Melbourne (CoM) Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030.
The Project Officer provides support to the Project Manager through a range of day-to-day project based tasks to ensure the program’s successful delivery. The program seeks to improve waste management practices and expand the network of hubs and recycling facilities for residents and businesses within the central business district.

What You Will Bring:
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the capacity to influence and liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
- Tertiary qualification in a related discipline such as Project Management, Engineering or Environmental Science and/or proven experience in a relevant field.
- Strong team player, with the ability to demonstrate emotional intelligence and sound judgement whilst collaborating and cooperating on decisions and initiatives;
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of waste management principles and practices necessary to strategically manage the waste generated within the City;
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships critical to the delivery of Council’s services;
- A high level of initiative and independence and the ability to establish own priorities and work with limited supervision; and
- Demonstrated knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to this program of work.
