Job description:
As a Project Manager (Rail and Railway Signalling), you will provide project management expertise to ensure the effective management and delivery of major rail and railway signalling projects, locally and nationally.
Your work will be instrumental in delivering major, cutting-edge projects that make a difference to our clients and the communities we serve. In this opportunity, you will manage projects of scale across their full life cycle.
You will also be responsible for:
- Manage the delivery of projects ensuring scope, time, cost, safety, and quality outcomes meet the business’ needs
- Lead a team of project engineers, subject matter experts and/or consultants to successfully deliver project/s to meet client requirements
- Provide technical advice to clients in relation to Rail Projects as directed by the Principal or Project Lead
- Ensure technical designs for rollingstock and railway signalling meet required specifications
- Conduct comprehensive engineering assessments, feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure the successful delivery of track and civil infrastructure projects
- Finalise projects upon completion, including the transfer of assets, closure of financials in compliance with the procedures
- Conduct the project audit and review and prepare the final reports for Management
- Develop bid documentation and assist with the negotiation of sub-contractor agreements for rail infrastructure works
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary project environment and provide technical oversight and guidance to junior consultants and graduates
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or a related field
- Relevant experience within rail industry and a keen interest in existing and emerging technologies, particularly in the management and delivery of rollingstock and railway signalling projects
- Demonstrated ability to project manage projects from inception to delivery within a multidisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Australian railway standards and guidelines and ability to adhere to industry best practices
- Experience in rail systems such has Overhead Line Equipment (OHLE), signalling, traction power supply and communications highly desirable
- Proven ability to manage budgets and financial responsibilities as pertains to the management of projects of scale
- Strong planning, organisation and problem solving abilities
- Confident with computer software such as MS Office and project scheduling software/s
- Meet requirements for rail industry site work (Rail Industry Workers Card, OH&S card etc)
- Excellent client relationship management skill as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
