SprayLine Road Services (SRS) is a commercialised branch within the Network Operations Division of the Department of Transport and Planning providing road maintenance services, construction and associated civil works, bituminous spray sealing and line marking to DTP, other state road authorities, municipal councils, and private industry. SRS delivers services locally within the communities and is committed to ensuring quality, innovative and sustainable outcomes.
SRS performs a key role as an internal provider to DTP, We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.
About The Role
- This is a Fixed Term Position until 31 December 2025* The Team Leader, Business Support leads a team of Coordinators and Officers across all regions, ensuring effective support for operational delivery. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role is part of the Wider Leadership Group, fostering strong relationships with operational teams, clients, partners, and DTP departments. Key responsibilities include overseeing business support services, managing the team, and driving strategic initiatives and process improvements. Position Outcomes / Accountabilities
- Oversee delivery of effective business support to SRS operational teams and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Provide and coordinate administrative services, including document preparation, event management, and follow-up on actions.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and manage sensitive or confidential enquiries related to SRS activities.
- Lead process reviews and implement improvements, fostering innovation and continuous improvement in business operations.
- Provide leadership and support to the Business Support team, promoting engagement, collaboration, and safe, flexible working.
Key Selection Criteria
The Department of Transport and Planning is seeking a skilled Team Leader, Business Support to manage a dynamic team of coordinators and officers. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of effective business support across regions, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will frequently liaise with various departments and external partners. Qualifications And Experience
Mandatory
- At least five years’ experience in a similar or comparable role supporting a blue collar or operational business, preferably in a government/public service context.
- At least five years’ demonstrated people management experience – preferably managing remote teams.
- Driver’s License
- Ability and willingness to travel and work across locations within metropolitan and regional Victoria.
Desirable
- A relevant Business or Administration certificate or diploma, or other relevant tertiary qualification.
