Job description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team as General Manager Operations. This role can be Based in our Canberra office or our Sydney Office, and will have coverage across NSW.
Opportunity - About the Role
Working within a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for leadership in developing and driving the management of our Operations in Construction Project Delivery, Asset Management and Maintenance and HSEQ.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning to project closeout.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and manage project risks, making proactive adjustments as needed to keep projects on track.
• Allocate and optimize resources, including labour, equipment, and materials, to achieve project objectives.
• Work with the finance team to create and manage construction budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
• Lead and mentor a team of construction professionals, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Implement and oversee environmental, health, and safety operations to create a safe work environment.
• Lead and oversee companies Asset Management including Logistics and Maintenance operations.
• Maintain effective communication with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure a smooth project flow, and collaboration.
• Collaborate with the executive team to develop and execute the company's overall construction strategy.
About You
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (desirable)
• Civil Construction industry knowledge and expertise ideally within Road Construction and Subdivisions
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction operations, project management methodologies, and industry best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional stakeholder's management and influencing skills
• In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.
• Commercial acumen and significant forecasting and financial management
• Self-motivated and results focussed
