We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate engineering student (university or TAFE) who has completed their second or third year of education. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a technical engineering team to deliver Council’s capital works program for roads, transport, stormwater, and asset management projects. We are looking for someone to bring their enthusiasm, methodical approach, and good interpersonal skills to this role.
This is a 12‑week placement where you will have the opportunity to work in the Infrastructure and Natural Assets group and be mentored by experienced engineers, project managers and technical staff to:
- Assist with project identification and scoping of roads, transport, traffic management and stormwater engineering projects.
- Provide input to investigation, design, and cost estimation for small to medium sized projects.
- Assist with preparation of contract documents and supervision of contract construction works.
ABOUT YOU
- Successfully completed 2 to 3 years of a tertiary engineering qualification (university or TAFE or equivalent).
- Proactively seeks instruction and guidance and approaches tasks with energy and enthusiasm.
- Has or willing to adopt a growth mindset and willing to learn and apply new skills.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
We offer a 12 week employment agreement on a full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis.
A base salary of $66,218.98 – $73,292.57 (pro-rata) will be offered + 11.5% superannuation and a 19-day month.
