Your new role
We are looking for someone to work across teams to help deliver and maintain best practice in compliance. You will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality compliance advice, interpreting complex obligations and their application to GloBird, engaging with regulators, and assisting in resolving compliance issues and incidents. You’ll apply your knowledge of the regulatory framework for energy retailers in a pragmatic approach to make sure our customer-facing and internal processes are both compliant and fit-for-purpose as a market-leading energy retailer. Key aspects of this position will involve managing any compliance incidents; building strong relationships with regulators, Government departments, distributors and other third-party organisations; responding to regulator requests and queries.

Responsibilities Will Include
- Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance.
- Effectively communicating complex risk and compliance content simply and concisely, providing pragmatic compliance advice to the business.
- Advice on upcoming & new regulatory & compliance changes, ensure internal system, process & operations changes are in compliant.
- Liaise with regulators & government entities and reporting on energy retail operational compliance obligations.
- Maintain the GloBird internal compliance registry & provide staff training.
- Review, audit, advise on internal systems, processes & operations for compliance.
- Liaise with internal external parties to manage the regulatory & compliance auditing.
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- We are looking for someone who is proactive, resilient, and adaptable, with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills. You should have a strong ability to navigate through complex regulatory requirements providing clear, practical advice. Your background should include:
- Demonstrated years of compliance experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably in energy, mining, oil and gas, or transport and logistics.
- Proven ability to provide timely, accurate and practical compliance guidance appropriate to business needs and operating environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for simplifying complex content.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in and passion for sustainable energy and technology and generating value through innovation
