Farm Hand – General Maintenance – Poultry

Hands-on maintenance role.
Assisting the farm manager.
Located in Milang

Due to continued growth, Solar Eggs Farms are seeking a farm hand or general maintenance person to work with the farm manager to assist managing the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks on the farm.

This is a day-to-day operation hence ideally the successful applicant will live near the farm. You will have a flexible attitude to work hours as the rotating roster requires early mornings and weekend work, applicants must possess good communication skills, be mechanically minded, able to undertake physical work and have demonstrated experience as a team player.

Daily Tasks

Work with and assist up to 4 staff in operation of the egg packing.
Breakdown maintenance.
Carry out general labouring tasks such as manually cleaning sheds and washing equipment
Handling of live chickens for vaccinations and moving sheds
Weed spraying, fencing and shed repairs
Have initiative and motivation to follow through with tasks on your own

Personal Attributes

Be physically fit to undertake manual labour
Have initiative and motivation to follow through with tasks on your own
Previous farming experience – not necessarily poultry farms.
Mechanically and or electrically minded.
Punctual and Reliable
No task is beneath you.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $32.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week

Can you please advise if you are available to work 10 am to 6pm or 7 am to 3pm as this position requires candidates to be able to work both shifts above?
You will be required to work a 10 day a fortnight roster that will see you working on a weekend every second week. Are you available to work weekends on a roster system?
