Job Summary:
You will plan, develop, and quality check civil design work, produce 3D models, drawings and documentation for a project, and take-off quantities for estimating.
Major Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work within a small-size civil design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit.
- Produces model, drawings (including drafting) and documentation in accordance with established design standards for civil works i.e. earthwork, road and drainage structures.
- Prepares or oversees the preparation of civil design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
- Participates in reviews and checks of civil engineering sketches and drawings from designers and drafters.
- Ensures civil designs comply with all applicable installation codes, design guides, regulations, and standards.
- Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of civil engineers, designers and drafters.
- Coordinates assigned civil design work with other project groups.
- Participates in technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers).
- Provides input into development of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design guides, appropriate Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive experience undertaking design and drafting using MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
